Choosing the best timing for camping is very essential. Most people prefer to camp during the summer.
However, there are others who don’t mind camping during the rainy season. Rainy season is very tricky because it has its own distinct challenges.

But these challenges can be solved. Therefore, you should not get discouraged about camping during the rainy season.

This is because there are very many tips on how to not hate camping in the rain. It just requires adequate planning.

Some 10 tips to not hate camping in the rain include:

1. Ensure you make a follow up with the meteorologists.

Meteorologists are able to forecast the weather hence you can rely on them. This will enable you to be updated on the weather predictions all the time. Hence you will be able to take the necessary precautions during your camping period.

2. Ensure that you have adequate clothing.

Having more than enough clothing will give you a peaceful camping period. This is because you don’t have to worry about what you are going to put on. This will also make sure you enjoy your stay in the camp because you have a variety of clothes to change every day.

3. Ensure you have very warm attire.

Camping period is not an easy time, especially at night. Therefore, you must ensure that you pack warm attire. This will make your stay very comfortable. This also includes having some boots. You can wear them at night or even during the day. The rainy season will be chilly throughout hence you must be determined to put on heavy garments like trench coats, trousers, and cotton-made socks.

4. Consider putting up a fireplace within the camp area.

This can really make the camping period to be enjoyable. Members gather around the fireplace and warm themselves nicely. You can share a lot of stories during this time. It really helps to create a strong bond between the members.

5. Make sure you create an extra room and it must have enough lighting.

Enough lighting will ensure that the room is very warm throughout. It can as well be used in case of an emergency. This extra room is good because the members will not feel the effects of the rain. Hence, they will be able to perform their tasks as expected.

6. Rain protective gears are a must have for everybody attending the camp.

These include carrying raincoats, gumboots, and umbrellas. This is necessary because sometimes you have to go for outdoor activities. Therefore, they will protect you from being rained on and contaminating flu.

7. Avoid damping wet clothes.

Always ensure that you hang them somewhere and give them enough time to dry completely. This is healthy since it will help you to avoid dampness within the camping rooms.

8. Always carry along with you at least one medical practitioner. Accidents and emergencies occur unexpectedly. Therefore, the medical practitioner will be able to assist accordingly. He or she can also give first aid where necessary.

9. Have plenty of food in the store.

During the cold season, our bodies really need a lot of energy. This energy must come from the food we eat. Therefore, it is good to eat food that can be able to satisfy you. It will also help you restore energy which you lost through exercises and carrying out various activities.

10. Be very cautious when choosing the venue for putting up the tent. Consider a more comfortable location.
