15 Ways to Improve Your Motorhome

15 Ways to Improve Your Motorhome

Have you bought a new motorhome? RV upgrades and modifications are standard, although they vary from one person or rig to another. You can improve your RV using the following 15 upgrades:

i. Upgrade your mattress

It would help if you upgraded your mattress to improve sleep and avoid back pains. However, since RV mattresses are different from standard mattresses, you need to look for a high-quality mattress that will fit in your motorhome.

ii. Surge protectors

If you connect to shore power while camping or you require automatic disconnect when experiencing high or low power, investing in surge protectors to protect your electronics is recommended.

iii. Solar power

Unlike using a generator, solar power is environmentally friendly, quieter, and reliable. Ergo, if you camp off-grid or in areas with no hookups, you should rely on solar power.

iv. Lithium batteries

Lithium batteries are preferred because they are easier to maintain, and they last longer. Although lithium batteries are expensive upfront, they make RVing life more comfortable because you can run all your appliances.

v. LED lighting

LED lighting saves power and improves visibility inside and outside the RV. The type and where to install LED bulbs depend on your budget and preference.

vi. Storage bay locks

Most storage bay locks in motorhomes are the same. Hence, the chances of someone else getting access to your RV storage is very high. To keep your precious items/belongings safe, you need to invest in new storage bay locks.

vii. Digital thermostat

Most RVs come with a standard manual control thermostat, which is not reliable. To get precise temperature control, consider investing in a digital thermostat. There is a wide variety of digital thermostats in the market. You have to research thoroughly.

viii. Towel and shower rack

Even though RV manufacturers include different decors when designing motorhomes, a towel and shower rack can improve your lifestyle and bathroom outlook. One of the advantages is the fact that modern designs can fit at the back of your RV bathroom door!

ix. Shoe storage

After camping for weeks in your RV, you will realize that the shoe storage area is limited. As a result, most campers end up with piles of shoes either inside or outside their RV. Instead of all that hassle, find space or a cabinet, and invest on a shoe rack.

x. High-pressure showerheads

RVers usually complain that their showers do not have enough pressure. If you have thick hair or you want to scrub dirt after a long hike, a high-pressure showerhead should be a must-have upgrade in your motorhome.

xi. Pantry lighting

For RVers who have a deep pantry, you need lighting because it will get dark regardless of how you have set up the house lights. You can either have battery operated light or a motion sensor as pantry lighting.

xii. Hidden garbage can

A hidden garbage can will make your camping life easy and free up space. Consider buying the models that hang on the cabinet door because they are affordable and easy to install.

xiii. Extra shelving

Since tall cupboards waste much space, consider installing a few wire shelves for specific items like towels, clothes, and plastic dishes.

xiv. Chalkboard fridge door

If you camp with your kids, chances are high they will color the walls. A chalkboard fridge door can be the answer to your problems. Additionally, you can make notes too on the door.

xv. Extra waste valve

After dumping the tanks, it is crucial to close the valve tightly. However, since valves do not seal properly at times, you might have to install an extra waste valve. If you cannot do it yourself, hire a mechanic or a handyman who is well versed in installing extra waste valves.
