The national park is blessed with striking geological deposits, and it’s the one national park in the world that contains the wealthiest fossil bed. The richness in the fossil bed is as a result of ancient mammals such as saber-toothed cat, rhino, and horse having roamed the area a long time ago. Also, the national park is also very spacious with a size of around 2444,000 acres. The large area includes a mix of prairie and grass where black-footed ferrets, bison, prairie dogs and bighorn sheep live to date.
